Thought this might be interesting, a bit of a background story for our dear container. It’s also narrated by Roger McGough!
Poet Roger McGough narrates the extraordinary story of how a simple invention - the shipping container - changed the world forever and forced Britain into the modern era of globalisation. With a blend of archive and modern-day filming, the incredible impact of the box is told through the eyes of dockers, seafarers, ship spotters, factory workers and logisticians. From quayside in huge container ports to onboard ships the size of four football pitches, the documentary explains how the shipping container has transformed our communities, economy and coastline.
This blog is a great ressource for bold and big typography. As Daphne emailed us today we are supposed to be thinking about that :-)

I found this on “This is glamorous”-Blog. I really like the idea of typography on the mirrors. Perhaps this would be a good way in order to let the container seem bigger. But are we able to get big mirrors? Do we have a budget at all?
Curator Sue Prichard’s blog documenting the process of curating the Quilts exhibition at the V&A. She’s giving a free talk on it all on Wed May 19th 1.15PM-2PM, would be a good group outing, what do you think?
Lauren and I went to Anthropologie this week and did some pictures of inspirations we found in this amazing shop. It would be very vintage and detailed, so perhaps we can’t use it, but there are so manc ideas in their stores, we could for sure profit from some of them. Have you seen that there is a new store from them on King’s Road (AMAZING, my heart jumped up and down the whole time I was in there!)
Pete Willis is a third year Illustration student from Camberwell, he publishes his own zines and also runs the Dead Trees and Dye Zine Distro. Have a look at his blog and website, it would be amazing to have him for one of the events. Maybe give a talk about self publishing and distributing or a zine workshop where people could create a collaborative zine maybe?
